What do I do if a video won't transcribe?

If a video won't transcribe, it's usually one of two things: 1. The video doesn't have an embedded transcript. TokScript extracts transcripts that are already embedded in the video by the platform (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube). Some videos β especially those with no speech, very short clips, or older content β don't have transcripts generated by the platform. In this case, there's no transcript to extract. 2. Temporary platform access issue. Occasionally, the social media platform may temporarily block the request. This is rare and usually resolves on its own. Try again in a few minutes. What to try: - Make sure the video URL is correct and the video is still publicly available - Try the same URL again after a few minutes - If the video is on a private or restricted account, TokScript can't access it - If you're using the Chrome Extension, make sure you're on the actual video page (not a search results or feed page) If the issue persists, contact support@tokscript.com with the video URL and we'll investigate.
