Why is my transcript showing as "Failed" status?

A "Failed" status means TokScript was unable to extract a transcript from that video. The most common reasons:

  • No transcript exists β€” the platform never generated one for that video. This happens with videos that have no speech, music-only content, or very new videos where the platform hasn't processed the transcript yet.

  • Video was deleted or made private β€” if the original video was removed or set to private after you submitted the URL, the extraction will fail.

  • Temporary platform issue β€” the social media platform may have been temporarily unavailable. Try again later.

If you're seeing "Failed" on a video that clearly has speech and is still publicly available, contact support@tokscript.com with the URL. We'll check if there's a platform-specific issue.
